Parks in Europe

On May 24, 1909 Sweden, as the first land in Europe, declared nine areas as national parks. For several years this day has been annually commemorated as the European Parks Day.
Switzerland was the second European country that donated a national park. The Swiss National Park in the canton of Grisons has existed since August 01, 1914.
